We're in Tonga

We safely made it to Tonga. We put the anchor down at 5a.m. this morning, went to bed and got back up again at 7:30 to start the procedure of clearing in which included driving into the harbour and finding a place to tie up to. We got advised to tie up to the tuck boat, which is a very rusty old thing so we ended up with lots of rust on our deck and fenders. Oh well.

At 2p.m. local time everybody has been aboard (Biosecurity, Health and Customs/immigration) and we were allowed to take the yellow flag down. We grabbed our bags, went into town (oh boy ist that street NOISY and dirty), got ourselves SIM-cards and thus internet at a fraction of the price that we had to pay in New Zealand, went to the market and got VEGGIES, SALAD and FRUITs (can't believe how cheap the stuff that you can get is here - it's all locally grown), went back to ALITA and anchored out. We hope we found a good spot that holds us through the strong wind of up to 35 knots (plus higher gusts) that is expected for the next 2 days. Oh man, I hope all these depressions end soon. Too much wind and rain. Again 2 days I can't get out of the boat. But, no problem, I have film making and music composing to do…. I am very happy that we made it safe to Tonga and that we're back here.

For now we're collapsing to our beds. Good night.
Here a picture I took on the first (and only) calm night in Minerva, a dragon spitting fire..
